Some UK Indie magic to share with you today! I was very lucky to do a swap with Georgia from Dragonglass and received some gorgeous minis from her current collections. Georgia is becoming well known for her dense micro glitter polishes and I was so excited to try these out.
Oz is a beautiful emerald green shimmer in paler green shimmer base. This polish was pretty much opaque in two coats and applies relatively evenly although I did have a couple of bald spots on my middle finger (I think this was more my fault for not going over the area). The polish is relatively thick but not at all difficult to work with and it does not build up thickly on the nail. On its own this polish does have a gritty finish but this is easily evened out with a coat of top-coat. I personally think there is something a little bit reptilian about this polish – a perfect dragon polish!
Channeling the Wizard of Oz theme I paired this with a ruby coloured polish called Queen of Hearts (inspired by Alice in Wonderland). Now this polish is a real stunner. It took three thin coats to become opaque although you may be able to achieve full coverage with thicker application in fewer coats (however I find thinner coats have a better dry time and application in thicker glitter mixes like these).
Queen of Hearts is really great red shade with flecks of gold and the finish is actually smooth to the touch – I was shocked by this as it looked like liquid glitter. This colour is perfect for xmas but at the same time is a lovely red which will not just be appropriate in the festive season!
Dry time wasn’t too bad but I would recommend a quick dry topcoat to speed things up a little. Formula although thick is easier to work with and the colours are bright and vivid. Removal is normal for a glitter so if you have a problem with that then I would recommend a PVA base when using these polishes. They really are worth the effort though.
I can’t wait to share with you the other polishes I have – they’re wonderful and Georgia picks some great inspirations. To get your hands on these polishes and see what else Dragonglass has to offer head to the shop HERE.
