OPI: Katy Perry on My Nails!!

That’s how it felt anyway. I was so lucky to scoop up two stunning new OPIs from someone’s de-stash, how they decided to part with these is a complete mystery to me…. If you click any images in this post they will appear in their fullsize sparkly amazingness – so feel free to have a closer look!

TeenageDreams

TeenageDreams2

So let’s start with all things sparkly and pink. Teenage Dreams was the must have from this collection (which comprised 4 polishes) – pink jelly base packed with iridescent and holo sparkle and it builds up to opaque in around three coats. Normally pink and sparkly are not my go to polishes but this polish is girly and fun without being tacky – which I think can be attributed by the pink of the base being fairly soft and feminine and not hot pink! The holo in this was so good I could see the bottle sparkling all the way across the room in the dark… or that is how it seemed anyway.

TeenageDreams3 Not Like The Movies is a silver based purple to green duochrome with glass fleck which makes it a little bit extra special. I don’t have a bottle of it to photograph but this is lighter than the more recent Peace, Love and OPI. The duochrome change was really magical – deep green and deep purple at the most extreme inversions. Again there was something very feminine and chic about this shade – I think sometimes duochromes are very blunt polishes and I don’t always like them but I LOVED wearing this. There were no problems with brush strokes either so mega thumbs up.

TeenageDreams4I almost didn’t do this post because neither of these polishes are super easy to come by – although Not Like The Movies is around if you have a good search. Teenage Dreams is a bit of a pickle but I think there is something similar in the H&M range or you can always ask a tame indie maker to whip you up something similar.

Talking of indies: if you’re in the UK the very last ever collaboration between myself and Tara is now available in her Etsy shop. We created four duos inspired by Aladdin (one has now sold out) for this last collaboration we made a few more than our normal one of each so that everyone had a chance to buy them.

Hope you’re all having a good week! Hopefully I will have some more posts for you this week – I’ve been so disorganised with the blog lately but I am definitely still around. What do you think of these polishes? What do you like to see on the blog?

Yes it is! The pictures don’t do Not Like The Movies justice, it is equally yummy just in a different way.
