This is the alternate mani I put together for my E post which features China Glaze Electric Pineapple. When I first got this it was a pretty standard not great China Glaze formula BUT when I used it this time it was fine in two medium thick coats – maybe my experience with lots of different polishes is helping. Dry time was really reasonable and I think it’s a fun weird yellow green colour (which you might remember from my water marble mani).
Some people have said this is similar to OPI Fiercely Fiona – I don’t have any of the Shrek collection so couldn’t say but it’s definitely got a hint of ogre to it.
For my accent I used Moyra Vivid Sand 713 Sunflower which is a similar toned yellow – although leans more neon and has a lovely silver glitter sparkle. I used two easy coats, I did notice this took a while to dry comparatively but since I had stamping to do for the design I didn’t mind the wait.
I really wanted to go with a fun tropical steamy jungle vibe so used a vine image from my MoYou Artist Plate (I tidied up my nail art supplies over the weekend but now can’t find anything… so not sure what number it is, it is the one with the image of “The Kiss” though). For the green colour I used Amazon… Amazoff from the OPI Brazil collection which is a real blue toned green. This is a stainer, I was warned and I think thats why I’ve put off using it for a full mani BUT even on the small bits of stamping that got on my skin… clean up really sucked. I was given a few good tips for stamping clean up which included using cellotape to lift the excess off your skin (rather than dissolving the pigment with acetone, this method should cut down on staining) or protecting the skin with Vaseline similar to the method I use for gradient and water marble easy clean up. Do you have any tips? If you do wear this colour for a full mani you definitely are going to want to double up on your basecoat, just trust me. It is a beautiful colour though and I love how well it stamped.
So what do you think? Which of my E manis did you prefer (you can check out the other one here)? As always, let me know with a comment below!
I love this color! I have been wanting some of the shrek collection but haven’t been lucky enough to find it.
Funky Dunky (the darker purple) seems to surface on etailers more frequently than the rest. I have seen most of the others on ebay etc but I am really not one for risking it on ebay because of the sheer number of fakes now. It was a gorgeous collection so hopefully we’ll both get hooked up…. someday!
Gorgeous! Love the leaves, such a nice colour combination
Thank you 😀 ❤
That’s an interesting color.
lol not keen?
