The Nail Arcade: Holo Triangles and Blue Laser Studs

Disclaimer: The nail art items used in this post were supplied to me for honest review and as ever that is what I shall be providing. All other products (to the best of my memory) were purchased by myself – this doesn’t really make a difference, I would still tell you if they were crap or, of course, awesome. Any links included are in no way sponsored or affiliate – just there to be helpful. Think that’s it.. let’s get on with the mani 😀Bluemani2

Another nail art supply review for you today! This was meant to be posted next week but Steph has been super busy so I bumped it up so she can focus on powering through her workload before she goes on holiday. The base colour used for this mani is OPI The Sky’s My Limit from the Mustang collection released earlier this year – I used two coats although it was super opaque in one. I recommend base coat with this colour although I have no personal staining issues to report. I have read in the blogosphere that this is similar to one of the new Zoya releases from the Ignite collection but I haven’t found side by side swatches to confirm that yet. It’s a beautiful azure blue packed with a golden shimmer giving this a very mermaid polish feel. I have used this polish before and you can check that out HERE.

So lets talk about the nail art bits and pieces – I wasn’t entirely sure what I was going to do with the holo triangles when I first saw them in my pack but I did notice they are very holo and a lot of fun. I definitely think disco balls and party manis are going to need some of these bad boys. I have a relatively narrow nail but as you can see they do fit and they do lay relatively flat to the nail.

For my ring finger accent I added these stunning blue laser studs – I am not 100% happy with my placement but I was in a bit of a tizz with fast drying topcoat. Personal failings aside, these are BEAUTIFUL. They’re dark but clearly blue with a stunning purple shift. I think these particular studs are a good size whether you’re using just one or doing a full nail – which gives some options in terms of placements and designs. They held in place very well under just a layer of topcoat with no snagging to report but if you do have concerns nail glue is always an option for a stronger hold with larger 3D nail art pieces.

I believe the holo triangles are already up for sale on the etsy page and the studs should be added soon – check the facebook page for updates and offers!

Would love to know what you think of this mani, what you think about the studs and if you know if the Zoya/OPI is a dupe! Let me know with a comment bellow!

I love those triangles! Not sure about the accent nail, I’m sure I’d end up picking them all off! 😀

hehe yeh, not for everyone. I have found that picking things off is not one of the nail sins I have… but I have many more to make up for it 😛

Lovely shade of blue, and the triangles look cute but I’d also pick the studs off, though it does look pretty 🙂

Thank you! 😀 As I said, I wasn’t 100% happy with what I did but I love the embellishments all the same.
